Welcome to #InspireTheUninspired's last contest of the year and first contest of the new year! This contest is going to take #InspireTheUninspired through this year and into the next so it is only fitting to have a theme to go along with it! With the help of our absolutely fantastic admins and affiliates we have managed to come up with this prize list! So please give our affiliates and donators some love!!!

Theme: This contest has the theme of 'Memories and Resolutions'. What are your memories of the year gone? What do you hope to achieve in the new year? We are looking for mostly factual deviations but you may write about fictional situations as well, it won't hinder the way we will judge your piece. Interpret the theme h

Firstly, I just wanted to thank the new members who've joined~ It's really nice of you to join a new group~
Secondly, a new folder has been added called: Other [I think, that's what it's called] where people should submit their deviations so that way we know the new ones and can decide which ones will be in the featured posts of the week~
Now on to the more important thing.
After talking with the co-founders we have decided to start with our first contest~!
The theme is: From The Heart
No word Limit and can be written in prose or poetry~
The contest will be closed in three weeks and by then three winners will be decided~!
So during these three weeks, please post them in the recently added contest folder.
Of course, the winners will receive some prizes so,

This portion of the contest is open to anyone who is not judging. It is best f you have already submitted something to revise in the first part, but if not you can note =VertigoArt with the piece and he will determine whether or not you may participate with that piece. Ideally the piece you are revising is a free write that you are taking from conception to perfection, but any piece that is not polished fully will do.
The winner of the first portion of this contest will be on even ground with everyone else in this portion.

It's 11:00 PM for me here in Central Time and that means it's about time to close the book on this one. I'll accept any late stragglers, up until around noon tomorrow, but that's it! If you've not gotten your entry in by then, you're out!

Hey yall. The April 10th deadline is coming up fast. So far I've received eight entries and it looks like it's gonna be a tough judging process.
That said, I've had a few people here and there hinting that maybe they could use an extension. So shout out in the comments below - do you need more time? Or is the remaining six days enough time to get it all done? I'm perfectly fine with putting off the judging process for while, maybe even until summer break. If enough people need it, I can pull the deadline back at least another week, more if necessary.

The great thing about life is that other people and things might influence our lives and make a very strong impact, but our lives are ultimately just that: ours. We can choose to let other people and the things that happen to us define us, or we can choose to make our lives all for the better. We can choose to let go; we can choose to heal.

I never quite understood his advice until one UFO Appreciation Day, I was gardening with my best friend Electra. All of a sudden, we found an underground tunnel! Haiku Contest! Theme: Nature

It seems to me quite a few of you feel the way I do - there aren't enough opportunities for writers on dA. I do look for prompts and contests and while I do find some gems, I don't find enough to bookmark a number of contests and keep myself writing a little bit everyday.

So I'll just start fixing that now. Deadline for this contest is June 12th. Instructions: write a haiku about nature. The idea is to get everyone to try writing a haiku and have an appreciation for the form's potential. Submissions must be original, written for the contest.

I can't emphasize this enough: You MUST send me a note with the link to your poem on dA. You can, in addition, link me to your poem through a comment. I do appreciate people doing both. But the note is necessary, trust me. It makes keeping track of what I've got a lot easier.

Please do link to the contest in the description of the entry. Also, entries must be in English. I can't read any other language that well. One entry per person, please.

You do not have to strictly follow the 5-7-5 syllable pattern (first line 5, second 7, last 5). I am more than willing to be a little flexible with that. Also, the kigo has been reduced to a nature reference.

You will still find it useful to read about haiku (the wikipedia entry on kigo is a gem). And please do read a few haiku before writing. I've written on Basho, Issa & Moritake. I think you'll like the poems; I certainly enjoyed thinking about them.

There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Donations will be accepted. I have a few points left over and will add more to the pool myself. There will also be a prize for the person who promotes the contest the most. As you enter, let me know if anyone referred you.

I can't guarantee that I'll promote everyone who enters. I have lots to do this month. But I will try. I add all contestants to my watchlist and I think the last batch of contestants can attest that I work hard to give everyone what attention I can.

If you won or were honorably mentioned last time, you probably won't win a prize. I want to spread the wealth. I do realize some of you are amazingly strong poets who should win every contest. I'll get you publicity and do what I can as one of your watchers. But I think it's really important deviants know that we care to see them work and develop as artists, not just be awesome all the time.

It's already a success. We've got about 30-31 submissions, all of them solid. The highest quality ones are spectacular. And I've got a few friends who go around giving llamas, comments and watches to everyone who participates.
