Frown of frustration from him;
she savaged the self crafted.
A drop of sweat almost hit the ground,
but the feathery arm was quite a surprise.
Perched, it was no struggle to take off,
and I met you while making loops in the air.

Highly placed,
transfixed by the refinement of brick, wood.
Then, gliding between buildings,
the power of the draft,
the grandeur of building.
Our day ended atop a telephone pole,
seeing the bright orange and rosy pink fade away.

We don't have a song.
All we have is a natural strength
from an unnatural happening.
You almost left your burden in tears
before you were on that skyscraper,
searching.

Sticky Kitchen TilesA cockroach stares at me
from halfway down the counter,
flat black eyes saying,
"Yeah, you're bigger than me.
Go ahead.
Grab the pot."

What he doesn't know is
I'm terrified of things with wings,
I don't take dares from insects,
and my pots are in the cupboard
right below his spindly legs.

I could grab the meat cleaver
and start swinging.

It's too bad I'm so fond
of blue kitchen tiles
and marbled counters.

Besides,
can't cockroaches
live for months without their heads,
anyway?

Birds fan themselves;
in heat they witness

EstrangedLife's strangeness is not "Why are we here?"
Nor gripping a stone on the beach,
dull and glazed with watery texture,
wondering how what is solid
is so slippery.
The absolutely absurd also
escapes analysis;
we know it to be life.

Guys, go check out ~vildrosor's fine poem "two:" [link]

I think it's a really good example of "sketching" through poetry, capturing an occasion or a feeling and just jotting it down. And I think that's really, really important for building to other projects.

There are two writings of my own for which I'd like some support. I think you guys will love what I've done paraphrasing translations of Cavafy. Really proud of how "At the Cafe Door" turned out.

I also just finished writing on Bioshock 2. The game addresses some difficult political issues thoughtfully; it's a terrific introduction to the best political theory has to offer. Please do give that a look if you have time.

I just read your critique of 'Cruising the Li River 1'. Thank you for bringing our attention to this wonderful photo. I love the Li. You have re-ignited within me a dream travel down it's waters one day. Yes, we are all within small boats on the waters of existence. Those mountains portray wonderment, the awe, the surrender.
